When
travelling I have more time at disposal at odd hours of the day. One of the
things I like to do is to help people studying the English Language ( I
absolutely adore!), by offering simple corrections or additions or
embellishments.
This
morning an English teacher from Teheran (Iran is my dream destination! When the
mullahs are gone as it is not safe for a very Pro-Israeli Jew to travel there
NOW)
As
a means of saying thanks she sent me a song by La Fabian.
In
this youtube video you see both French and English Lyrics and hear the song as
well.

Presque comme une mère, tu me bordais, me
protégeais

Je t’ai volé ce sang qu’on n’aurait pas dû
partager

But
if you wish to see an emotional concert where the audience sings and respond in
a wonderful wonderful fashion, here it is

TRANSLATION:

Okay, there were other ways of parting
Some debris of glass maybe could help us
In this bitter silence, I decided to forgive
Errors that can be made to love too
Okay, the little girl in me often claimed you
Almost like a mother, you guarded me,
protected myself

I’ve stolen your blood that should not have to
share

At the end of words, dreams I’ll scream

I love you, I love you
Like a fool like a soldier
As a movie star
I love you, I love you
As a wolf, as a king
As a man I’m not
You see, I love you like that

Okay, I trusted you all my smiles, all my
secrets

Even those whose only brother is the guardian
unacknowledged

In this house of stone,
Satan watched us dance
I wanted so much the war of bodies which made
peace

I love you, I love you
Like a fool like a soldier
As a movie star
I love you, I love you
As a wolf, as a king
As a man I’m not
You see, I love you like that

I love you, I love you
Like a fool like a soldier
As a movie star
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love
you, I love you, I love you

As a wolf, as a king
As a man I’m not
You see, I love you like that

Tears were flowing as I watched the video.
Grateful for those words
Uttered at nights and days, in trains and
buses, in planes and oceans
In English and French and Spanish and Farsi
Melbourne Kingston Havana Paris London/KL
Miami
You see why these places are special for me..
It put me in such a euphoric mood, here
watching the bay at Doha, Qatar, far away from all the loves I have known.
Decided to watch yet another love story in
video
This time by one of our own
Leonard Cohen
Dance me to the beauty of a Burning Violin
Dance me to the end of Love…

I am grateful for the beauty this life offers us. Doctor or Monk, Rich or Poor, in the end we are left with Love and for some of us, just memories and dreams of Love.

I dedicate this to the visible love of my best friends in Miami, Dr M and Mrs G.
